Springtime is upon us and color is everywhere. From blossoming flowers to designers adorning color onto their collections — you can’t escape it. When it comes to makeup, a splash of color, whether it be eyeshadow or eyeliner, is a beautiful addition to complete any outfit in spring. Admittedly, using anything other then earthy tones is out of the comfort zone but this year I will change my resolution. Flushing out everything the top makeup guru’s had to offer on the internet, I’ve finally come up with a list for the best eyeshadow palettes.

BH Cosmetics
Starting with BH Cosmetics, the 120 Palette is the best “makeup for beginner’s” kind of palette. The 120 Color Eyeshadow Palette gives you just that — 120 different shades to play with. For around $15 this palette is first on my list for embarking on a new color adventure.
Sugarpill
Quads in Burning Heart
and Sweetheart
Sugarpill has created 2 vibrant quads which will knock your socks off. At $36 these quads seem to have a cult following. Their Facebook fan page is lined with loyal beauty lovers showing off creative makeup skills with excitement and enthusiasm. The colors personally got my heart pounding with curiosity. Urban Decay
Naked Palettes
With such popularity, Urban Decay decided to release a follow up version to their original eyeshadow palette. Now we have a Naked Palette, Naked2, and Naked 3 Eyeshadow. Beauty reviewers seem to be conflicted as to which is the most victorious. However, all are saying these palettes are the go-to for all your shadow needs. Not only are the colors perfect, the formula is creamy, pigmented and long lasting.

Bright pigmented colors, Chrysalis Eyeshadow Palette by Kat Von D is a must. Overwhelmed with 5 star ratings, my first dismissive opinion has been crushed. Kat Von D has created a vibrant eyeshadow palette with perfect colors to play with in springtime or anytime.

But also love the moonlit moth palette and the earth and fire palette.If you’ve not done so, check out colourlovers.com. There are tons of ideas for color combinations over there. I personally like contrasting colors and analagous colors with contrasting colors. I’m a huge graphic design nerd, and my specialty is color so I can spend hours pouring over color combos!If that’s not helpful, you should check out some wedding blogs. Their floral arrangements are always extremely inspiring when I’m looking for a new color combo.
